In Canada, Pacific Energy's Woodfibre LNG Project is a natural gas liquefaction and export facility located at a former pulp mill site in Squamish, British Columbia, about 70 km northeast of Vancouver. The project has received approval from the Government of Canada to export LNG over a period of 40 years. The project has received environmental approvals from the provincial and federal governments as well as the local First Nation.
