Apical is a leading vegetable oil processor with an expanding global footprint. Our vertically integrated mid-stream refining and value-added downstream processing makes us an integral supplier that supports the food, feed, oleochemical and renewable fuel needs across industries.

With integrated assets in strategic locations spanning Indonesia, China and Spain, Apical operates numerous refineries, oleochemical plants, renewable fuel plants and kernel crushing plants. Through joint ventures and strategic partnerships, Apical also has processing and distribution operations in Brazil, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Middle East, Africa, USA and Vietnam.

Apical’s growth is built on the foundations of sustainability and transparency, and motivated by our strong belief that we can make a more meaningful impact even as we continue to grow our business and deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

We are guided by our 5Cs business philosophy of doing what’s good for the community, country, climate, customer and only then, will it be good for the company. From our sustainability policies to implementation frameworks, anchor programmes to our long-term commitments, we are always striving to build a truly transparent, traceable and sustainable supply chain.

Apical established its Sustainability Policy in 2014, committing to No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) and positively contributing to the socio-economy standing of smallholders and local communities. To drive greater compliance, in 2020, Apical launched A-SIMPLE Framework, a mechanism for ensuring effective implementation of our Sustainability Policy and adoption of sustainable practices across our operations and supply chain. At present, Apical’s Traceability to Plantation (TTP) stands at 99.98%. We aim to achieve 100% verified TTP by 2025 and Apical’s Traceability Verification Guideline developed in collaboration with Proforest & Daemeter will shape the path to this ambition.

In living up to our purpose of improving lives by developing resources sustainably, we have also advanced our sustainability commitment with Apical2030. Centred on creating a positive social, environmental and business impact, Apical2030 includes ambitious sustainability-focused targets around four strategic pillars namely Transformative Partnerships, Climate Action, Green innovation and Inclusive Progress. The roadmap guides our decisions and actions with the aim of achieving sustainable growth and value creation for the Company, our stakeholders and industry at large. The targets were developed in reference to the Apical’s 5Cs business philosophy, our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) targets, and nine UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To ensure greater accountability, Apical became an RSPO member under the category of palm oil processor and trader in August 2011. Our refineries in Indonesia have obtained RSPO Supply Chain Certification since 2012. We are committed to achieve RSPO or relevant certification for all our existing processing facilities. Till date, all our refineries are ISCC/RSPO Certified.
